Change of protist and cyanobacterial communities exposed by the elute of a seafloor massive sulfide ore from the seafloor in the Okinawa Izena area, Japan

This study investigated sensitive protist and cyanobacterial lineages in marine environments to a natural seafloor massive sulfide (SMS) deposit. The changes of microbial community collected from both Iheya North region and Suruga Bay, Japan were detected based on SSU rDNA/SSU rRNA amplicon analyses.
