Genome sequencing of Wolbachia of Anopheles mosquitoes

Genome sequencing, assembly, and analysis of a strain of Wolbachia pipientis identified within Anopheles Moucheti and Anopheles demeilloni collected from the field in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This study is the first to formally identify, assemble, and characterize the genome sequence of Wolbachia strains that naturally infects mosquitoes of the Anopheles genus, and may play a critical role in efforts to control mosquito populations/spread and arthropod-borne diseases.
