A whole-watershed microbiome reveals a cross-biome role in symbiont sources and sinks

In this study we map microbial distributions within a small, natural watershed in order to examine source-sink dynamics of symbiotic microbes at the landscape scale, among hosts, habitats and environmental contexts. We characterize a microbial meta community within Oahu's Waimea watershed, selected for its contiguity, isolation, and steep environmental gradients.
