Ionic liquid containing microemulsions

DOI

The aim of this experiment is to characterise several novel ionic liquid ¿ oil and ionic liquid ¿ water microemulsions via SANS prior to their use in the synthesis of metallic nanoparticles. Contrast variation will be used to obtain a clear picture of the underlying microemulsion structure and resolve the controversial issue of whether an ionic salt is able to partition away from water.
