Stutzerimonas stutzeri KC strain:KC Genome sequencing

Complete genome of Pseudomonas stutzeri strain KC harboring the pdt genes for synthesis of pyridine-2,6-bis(thiocarboxylic acid), a metal chelator that fortuitously dechlorinates carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). The pdt genes are on a 182 kb integrative and conjugative element (ICE), designated ICEPsstKC. ICEPsstKC also encodes a toblerol polyketide synthase-like gene cluster.
