Fast segmental dynamics of surfactants in rod-like assemblies and their correlation with microstructure is not very well understood although the structure and macroscopic behavior are extensively studied. Local dynamics of these type of assemblies could play an important role in various fields such as the release of solubilized drugs etc. Addition of electrolyte changes the interaction between the amphiphiles and segmental dynamics of surfactants. Our preliminery experiment showed that the addition of electrolyte does have a significant influence on the segmental dynamics of surfactants. Therefore, we propose to study the systematic change in segmental dynamics by QENS in SDS type micellar systems at different concentration of electrolytes and variation in temperature. This will provide an direct correlation between shape, interaction and local dynamics in this micellar systems
