This repository provides sample data and selected software code used within the analysis presented in the manuscript 'Regional-scale seasonal forecast of surface water availability in a semi-arid environment: The case of Ceará State in Northeast of Brazil'. The aim of the study was the development an integrated system for the monitoring and forecasting of hydrological dynamics for the state area of Ceará. In addition to sample data and scripts for the determination of area-volume curves based on high resolution DEMs and the watermask detection based on Sentinel-1 images, this repository contains results and scripts for the LUMP application and the WASA parameterizations including information on the calibrated parameters and interpolated historical meteorological variables. Further data sets are available from the authors upon request. We thank all data providers that supported this research study, in particular, the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) for the provision of the TanDEM-X CoSSC data, the ECMWF for providing SEAS5 data, Copernicus and ESA for the provision of data from the Sentinel-1 mission and COGERH for providing data related to the strategic reservoirs.
