We will investigate a series of aluminosilicate systems, zeolite chabazite, ZSM-5, Zeolite Y and Zeoltie A and determine the short and medium range order structures and the pore-size when the solids convert from amorphous precursors to crystalline solid. For this purpose we will use NIMROD which has the unique feature of measuring SANS and diffraction data which when processed will provide the necessary information on the nature of the short and medium range order and the pore structure of the amorphous and crystalline materials. We will prepare these materials through hydrothermal methods and investigate these systems which will allow us to determine how the network and pore-structure is formed prior to the formation of crystallisation solids.
