Incubation experiments characterizing nitrate reduction in the water column of the Lake Lugano North Basin, Switzerland

We performed incubation experiments with added nitrate (and additional sulfide or acetate) using water samples from the Lake Lugano North Basin, to determine the N and O isotope effects of nitrate reduction in natural lake water consortia. Samples were collected during field campaigns in November 2016, February 2017, October 2017, and April 2018 at the deepest point of the lake, using Niskin bottles at depths between 95 m and 155 m.
