Investigation of the low temperature magnetic order in Cu nitrate

DOI

The aim of this proposal is to study the field induced magnetically ordered phase of the quasi 1D spin system copper nitrate. We plan to study the integrated intensities of the Bragg-Peaks 200 and 40-2 at different applied magnetic fields and different temperatures down to dilution temperatures. These two peaks nicely show the antiferromagnetic spin structure, from which the phase diagram of the field induced magnetic low temperature phase can be obtained.
