De Oude Buyshaven

Van 18 mei tot en met 10 juni 2020 (15 dagen) is door Archeologie West-Friesland in opdracht van BPD Ontwikkeling BV een opgraving uitgevoerd binnen het plangebied De Cuyp in Enkhuizen. Het terrein heeft een oppervlakte van ongeveer 5500 m2 en wordt begrensd door de Kuipersdijk, Cromhoutstraat en Admiraliteitsweg. Op deze locatie stond de voormalige Technische School ‘De Cuyp”, die begin 2020 is afgebroken. De aanleiding voor het archeologisch onderzoek vormde de geplande nieuwbouw van 21 woningen in twaalf bouwblokken, plus diverse garages. Op 16 december 2015 is door Archeologie Hoorn een Archeologisch Bureauonderzoek voor het plangebied opgesteld. Hierin is geconcludeerd dat het plangebied op basis van de topografische ontwikkeling en de historisch bekende gegevens een hoge archeologische waarde heeft en dat bij het voorgenomen bouwplan behoud in situ voor een deel van het plangebied niet mogelijk is. Daarom is geadviseerd tot het laten uitvoeren van een archeologische opgraving. Voor de uitvoering hiervan is op 27 januari 2020 het Programma van Eisen opgesteld.
