This study is part of an international collaboration project on Data Literacy and Research Data Management, performed by a group of researchers in more than twenty countries during 2017, initiated by Serap Kurbanoğlu and Joumana Boustany. The survey instrument, consisting of twenty-four questions, was created by researchers from England, Turkey and France. The survey included questions related, e.g., to data used by the researchers, willingness and attitudes towards sharing data and data management. In part of the questions several alternatives could be chosen. LimeSurvey online platform was used for data collection.
Therefore, in this data set we use the combined responses from both countries, Finland and Lithuania. The approach of combining data was chosen as it was considered more beneficial and inclusive than comparing these two small countries. The survey received a total of 671 fully completed responses from Finland and Lithuania combined.
In the questionnaire a list of subfields was given to the respondent and for the analysis we have combined the subfields to main classes. For this classifying we used the Common European Research Classification Scheme (1991). Statistical data analysis was conducted by using IBM SPSS 23.
