Abstract Rick and his friends travel along eastern Europe, but some unfortunate encounters are about to cut their risky adventure short. Meanwhile, Ivan and Miriam are already heading towards their location. Both Rick and his friends’ exciting and dangerous trip, on the one side, and the desperate search, on the other, turn into a chance to bond and disclose intimate secrets.

Details Rick and his friends wake up in the boat in Zara where they had spent the night. There, they meet a group of bikers, who offer to give them a ride. In the meantime, Ivan and Miriam are getting to the port looking for the packaging team, but they get there right after they already left. So, they try to follow their location provided by Cedrini’s phone, but Cristian, who had taken it away when he found out that Cedrini had brought it to the trip, throws it out while riding on the motorbikes. When Miriam and Ivan realize that the lost traces of Rick and his friends, they get into a big fight in which Ivan accuses her of wanting to make up for the loss of her child by meddling into others’ parenting. Miriam, hurt, gathers her things and decides to hitchhike. After walking a while on a desert road, she meets Ivan again, whose camper had broken down. After calling assistance, they apologize to each other and make peace. Right afterwards, she reveals that she felt somehow responsible for her daughter’s death, who had a heart attack after she took her to the chocolate factory and taught her to pack the chocolate boxes. The bikers Rick and his friends rode with are actually Italian police officers that were going to visit their former chief officer. When they find out that Rick and his friends actually escaped from home, they threaten to turn them in to the local police, who in the meantime had received a warning about their getaway. However, they change their mind and convince the local police to escort them to the Montenegrin border, moved by Rick’s mission to find Tina and after he asks for some trust, as young people without disabilities would receive. On the way to Albania, Cerini and Giango start to fight over who is in love with their colleague Giulia. After Cerini accuses of being a drug dealer in order for him to look bad in Giulia’s eyes, he reveals that he had been tricked by a group of hip-hop dancers that he wanted to join badly. Despite feeling sorry for Giango, Giulia declares at the end that she wants to date Cedrini. Therefore, he asks Rick to teach him to kiss a girl. Also, Cristian tells Rick, who worries about his father not approving his relationship with Tina, that he has never had a father and that he is often sad also because of it. The bus driving Rick and his friends stops at a local fair, where they have to wait for the next bus. While eating, they meet other two young men, who offer to give them a ride. Unfortunately, their ride had actually the intention of robbing them. They take them to an abandoned place and threaten them with a knife, but the team manages to knock them of and escape with their pick-up. However, trouble is not over. Giango falls from the back of the pick-up and breaks his leg, whereas Cristian, who is diabetic, broke all of his insulin vials during the fight. He passes out right as they reach a small town, where he is taken to the hospital and receives medical care together with Giango. As Giulia tries to withdraw some money from the ATM with Ivan’s credit card, Miriam and Ivan manage to trace Rick and his friends and, ultimately, they find them at the hospital. After reproaching Rick, he accedes to drive him to Albania and help him with his plan to find Tina to marry her, while the rest of the team heads back to their families to Italy with Miriam.
This emotional trip has created a bond between Miriam and Ivan, who expresses his feelings to her. Nevertheless, she refuses to let her feelings get to her and rejects him, as she has always done with every man to whom she got emotionally close, ever since her daughter’s death.
