Clay mineralogy, grain size, XRF geochemistry, carbonate content, and Nd and Sr isotopes from the northern Red Sea

DOI

We present a sedimentary record from a marine core, KL23, taken from the northern Red Sea, spanning the last ca. 220 kyr. The core was recovered at 25°44.9' N and 35°03.3' E from a water depth of 702 m during RV Meteor expedition M31/2 in 1995. We combine high-resolution grain size, clay mineral and geochemical data, together with Nd and Sr isotope data to identify provenance and reconstruct changes in aridity/humidity through time.
