The key objectives are to study creep cavitation (formation of voids at high temperature) in pure copper. Cavities forming in polycrystalline materials leads to a drop in the toughness of materials. The results from this experiment will inform the creep cavity modeling work in our EPSRC project (EP/R02607/1) and will be submitted for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Such studies will give insights on the creep cavity formation and coarsening in stainless steels used for power generation industries.
