In Situ Inelastic Neutron Scattering Studies of Gas-Loaded Porous Framework Solids from Gas-Mixtures

DOI

In the coming year, we plan to build upon the success of last cycle, by carrying out more hydrocarbon studies of this porous material NOTT-300 and one of its iso-structural framework materials, NOTT-302, which contains Indium metal centres. This study will include loading C2H6 and CH4 into the MOFs to study their weak supramolecular interactions and diffusion within the channel. In addition, we also propose to study other C2H2 and C2H4 mixtures to investigate the co-diffusion within the channel of the framework host. This study is significant for the practical application of these materials to separate the mixture of hydrocarbons. Wetherefore request 10 days for this study, including the background collections, and loadings for C2H6, CH4, and 25:75, 75:25 mixtures of C2H2 and C2H4.
