Cephalaspidea Phylogenomics

The goal of this study was to examine whether transcriptomic data could help resolve phylogenetic relationships among cephalaspidean gastropods (bubble snails and head shield slugs). Understanding the evolutionary relationships within this charismatic group of snails and slugs will help us to understand the evolution of the shell, including shell reduction, internalization, and loss, which has led to an array of slug-like forms within gastropods.
