ALC muon spectroscopy of antioxidants

DOI

In a previous experiment (RB910492) we have made preliminary measurements of the rates of addition of muonium to vitamins C and E, as suggested by the ISIS panel. These rates showed that vitamin E reacts ca 25 times faster than vitamin C. This is in accord with the accepted antioxidant capacities of these materials. We now request beamtime Completely characterise the muoniated radicals formed by the two antioxidants vitamin C and vitamin B using the newly commisioned HiFi spectrometer.
