Whole genome analysis of Argonauta argo

The argonaut octopuses has pelagic lifestyle unlike common octopuses. Female argonauts produce a calcareous eggcase secreted by the tips of the first arm pair. To clarify the molecular mechanism of ectopic shell formation and adaptation to the floating lifestyle, we analyzed high-throughput sequencing data with the cooperation of PAGS, JSPS.
