Support for what? An assessment of project proposals to the Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT)

The Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) is a trust fund managed by the Global Environmental Facility providing support to developing countries. The main aim of the initiative is to build the capacities of developing countries to participate in reporting and review mechanisms under the Paris Agreement. Climate reporting under the Paris Agreement consists of four areas: reporting on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, mitigation actions, climate impacts and adaptation actions, and financial, technology development and transfer and capacity-building support provided, needed and received. The CBIT allows for funds to be requested for each of these areas of reporting. The primary aim of this database is to assess for which of these areas of reporting funds have been requested in practice.
