Interactive visualization of a surveying instruction

This visualization presents the user with the subsequent steps required to solve a surveying problem, typical for 17th-century instruction books. The user is asked to determine the distance between two reference points that are inaccessible, on the other side of the 'river'. Only by following the correct procedure with angle measuring instrument, measuring chain, pencil, and paper, can the problem be solved.
