Aquatic macroinvertebrate abundance in French experimental polyculture fishponds

The dataset contains abundances of aquatic macroinvertebrates measured in six freshwater fishponds in France during the SEPURE project « New strategies to build and manage fish pond systems for a sustainable fish farming » (FEAMP measure 47; 2019). Macroinvertebrates were sampled from March to October 2021 along the banks and in the deep-water zone of each pond. From these abundances, dry biomass and productivity were calculated.

The dataset consists of eight sheets:

Raw abundance of macroinvertebrates identified to the lowest taxon possible. Stage and size class are also noted. Individual dry biomass per taxon in 8, 4, 2, 1 and 0.5 mm sieves. Weighted dry biomass per sieve per pond. Temperature every 10 minutes at two depths from March to October 2021. Productivity (mg/d) per taxon per sieve for each month of sampling in each pond. Experimental design of the project. Detailed information about how weighted dry biomass and productivity of macroinvertebrates were calculated. Description of variables for the five datasets.
