Water elevation measurements using binary image analysis for 2D hydrodynamic experiments

The present data complement the paper “Water elevation measurements using binary image analysis for 2D hydrodynamic experiments”, published in Ocean Engineering (2018). Then, it should be cited as follows:

Hernández I.D., Hernández-Fontes J.V., Vitola M.A., Silva M.C., Esperança P.T.T., 2018. Water elevation measurements using binary image analysis for 2D hydrodynamic experiments, Ocean Engineering 157, 325-338. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.oceaneng.2018.03.063

In the present version (V2) of the Mendeley repository, the reference of the paper has been updated. The available complementary data remain as in the version 1, which was cited in the paper.

The data related to the cases of study (i.e., calibrated image stacks), the software for image processing and analysis (i.e., either the ImageJ portable software with macro scripts or the macro scripts only), and a video tutorial showing how to obtain the water elevation at virtual wave probes using the proposed methodology, are provided.

Considerations:

The two calibrated image stacks of grayscale-images in multilayer TIFF files are provided with embedded calibration and time of capture in the metadata.

For the use of both macro scripts and the embedded information, we recommend the use of ImageJ (https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/) or Fiji (https://imagej.net/Fiji) software with versions 1.8 or above.
