Anti-ferromagnetic ordering in the super-oxygenated (La,Sr)2CuO4+y superconductor

DOI

We have obtained a LSCOO x = 0.06 single crystal where neutron diffraction shows field induced anti-ferromagnetic order with an onset field in the range 0-1T and increasing linearly with field. We expect to be able to study the fluctuations of the ordered moment close to the magnetic transition temperature. The muon spectrometer Hifi at ISIS offers the unique possibility of applying a 5T field (longitudinal) on the sample position. It therefore provides the ideal environment for studying the dynamics of the field induced magnetic phase. We expect to study 5 field values with a full temperature dependence of 10 temperatures. For this, we ask for 2 days of beamtime on Hifi.
