Biomass water content at Zackenberg valley, NE Greenland, 2013-07

DOI

The purpose of this work was to determine the biomass water content.Biomass was harvested at Zackenberg valley, NE Greenland, at 27-29 July 2013 at 20 locations. At every location, 3 replicates were taken with a size of 20x20cm each. All above-ground biomass was harvested and packed in plastic bags with zippers. Immediately after harvesting, the biomass was brought to the lab, weighted and oven dried until the weight did not change for 24 hours.Soil moisture was measured at each location. The moisture value is integrated from surface to 12cm depth. If no soil moisture value is given, standing water was present at the surface and the soils were saturated.
