New high pressure hydrates for energy applications.

DOI

The need to decarbon the energy economy is one of the greatest technological challenges mankind has ever faced. Gas hydrates offer new clean potential materials for hydrogen storage and carbon dioxide sequestration and the application of high pressure to this search is a major focus for the Edinburgh programme. This proposal is for beamtime to look for new hydrates in the carbon dioxide water system and to determine crucial structural information on three hydrogen hydates.
