Environmental site information for the streams and rivers of the Northern Hemisphere cryosphere

DOI

The Northern Hemisphere Cryosphere riverine organic carbon (OC) database presents information on the measurements of riverine OC characteristics in the permafrost- and glacier- impacted watersheds between 1972 and 2022. It contains concentration, radiocarbon content, and specific ultraviolet absorbance at 254 nm (SUVA254) of DOC in our synthesis dataset. The study aims at understanding the role of riverine OC in cryosphere for the global carbon cycle and budget.
