Characterising the mechanism of three different corrosion inhibitors on a nickel surface

DOI

This proposal seeks to determine the action of three key classes of corrosion inhibitor for nickel surfaces under acidic environments, in particular the ability of each to prevent corrosion/roughening of the metal surface, and to determine the monolayer structure of the inhibitors. This work will be enhanced by use of polarised neutrons which greatly aid structural determination for these systems.
