Defect perturbation of the rotational states of NH4 in octahedral environments

DOI

The (NH4)0.02 Rbx K0.98-x I system offers advantages for the systematic study of tunnelling species and how they interact. Currently there are two models to explain the dynamics of (NH4) ions in KI: at low concentrations a structural glass model is used, and; at high concentrations a dipolar glass model is favoured. We intend to follow the switch from the one to the other, should it occur.
