Ferromagnetic order in LiFeAs – crystal structure and spin density ofLi0.98Fe1.02As

DOI

Superconducting LiFeAs appears to be different from the other Fe-based superconducting materials. No doping is required and aspin-triplet SC pairing has been discussed. Studies of non-stoichiometric and Ni-doped LiFeAs give evidence for a magnetic order with ferromagnetic polarization. We measured flipping ratios at Li0.98Fe1.02As and find a significant higher magnetic moment as in the pure compound. We could also measure a series of 8 flipping ratios at low temperature in the aim to identify the site of the FM ordering. However more reflections need to be studied in order to get a reliable measure of the distribution of the spin density. To treat the data in an authentic way, we need in addition the detailed crystal structure including the extinction conditions of our sample.
