Cu-Zr-Al bulk metallic glass matrix composites with in-situ formed CuZr phase

PID

The project proposal aims at optimization of the chemical composition of Cu-Zr-Al alloys in order to obtain bulk amorphous-crystalline composites, containing in-situ formed CuZr crystalline phase. The in-situ neutron diffraction experiments, recorded as function of temperature, will allow to study the crystallization of the amorphous phase and further phase transformations. By this, effect of the alloying elements on the formation of CuZr phase can be studied.
