AOT stabilized aqueous ferrofluids

DOI

The aim of the experiment is to employ SANS to study the physical properties of a novel and very stable aqueous Fe3O4 ferrofluid system stabilized by the commercially available surfactant dioctylsulphosuccinate - AOT (Figure 1)[references 1 - 3]. Using contrast variation SANS experiments, the surfactant-particle interactions, interparticle interactions and particle structure can be investigated along with the growth mechanism and kinetics of the system.
