Brown Carbon Optical Properties

Optical properties of Brown Carbon aerosol as functions of wavelength (λ), geographic origin, fuel source depth (FSD), and moisture contents (MC).

Data for Alaskan peat: four wavelengths, two FSDs, and five MCs for a total of 40 data points.

Data for IN peat: four λs and three MCs for a total of 12 data points.

Each data point includes the total number concentration (Ntotal), geometric mean diameter (dpg) and geometric standard deviation (σg) of the size distribution as reported by a scanning mobility particle sizer , as well as both components of the complex refractive index (real part n and imaginary part κ) and the single-scattering albedo (SSA). Refractive indices were retrieved with the Python Mie Scattering package (PyMieScatt).
