Distribution maps of common woody species for Swiss forests

DOI

We used Swiss National Forest Inventory (NFI) data to model the potential distribution of the most common woody species for the forested area of Switzerland and provide potential distribution maps that fulfill specific quality criteria with regard to predicting performance.

More details on the methods and results are described in the project summary available here.

The resulting maps can be viewed in a simple web-GIS application available at:
https://www.lfi.ch/produkte/mogli/mogli-en.php

Data can be used without restrictions, but the data must be explicitly asked from the contact person of the dataset in order to obtain access. This is a requirement to fulfill the needs of reporting towards the funding agencies.
