Modern and fossil diatoms from Lake Kushu, northern Japan

Diatoms from a sediment core from Lake Kushu on Rebun Island in northern Japan. A modern set shows the recent assemblages and eutrophication. The fossil set from the RK12 Kushu core (19 m) covers the late glacial/ Holocene time periods and discovers the Lake Kushu history.
