Interaction of keratin with surfactants studied by neutron reflection

DOI

This proposal constitutes part of our ongoing study towards understanding how keratin, an important protein component of hair and skin, interacts with ionic surfactants using neutron reflection. Both SDS and C12TAB will be used as model surfactants and their deuterated versions will help enhance interfacial structural resolution. This experiment will be undertaken at the air/water interface.
