Phase behaviour in Polymer-Photovoltaic Thin Film Blends

DOI

In polymer-fullerene based photovoltaic systems the phase behaviour of the blends is poorly understood and remains a fundamental stumbling block to improvements in device efficiency. The interfaces in these thin films play an important role in dictating the composition profile. In this proposal we wish to determine the composition profile of of thin films of two conjugated polymer-fullerene systems where we control the polymer-fullerene interaction strength by functional groups on the fullerene.
