Soil temperatures in the Ameskar Valley, High Atlas Mountains

DOI

Soil temperatures in the Ameskar Valley, High Atlas Mountains at 10 cm depth. Transect of about 40 plots (10 km) from the Ameskar valley across the M'Goun mountain range to the Ouzighimt valley. Elevation interval approx. 150 m. The Instrument was the Universal Temperature Logger (UTL) of the University of Berne. Time step was 1 Hour, start was 2001-11-01, end was 2002-09-02. The UTLs were distributed in the terrain to achive information about soil temperature regimes in different altitudinal zones (2100 m - 3900 m above Sea level), different aspects and different slope inclinations. Main subject was the identification of a snow layer.Dataset created by IMPETUS subproject B2. IMPETUS data set ID: 96
