Climate and landscape variables of study plots in LandKlif project

DOI

LandKlif project aims at studying the effects of climate change on biodiversity and ecosystem services in different landscape types. We used the Bavaria quadrants as a representative regions that cover the temperature, precipitation and elevation gradients in Bavaria. We have classified the climate and landscape gradient of Bavaria into 5 climatic zones, 3 landscape types. In each of these climate-landscape zones, 4 replicates have been selected based on distance to our partner institutions and least spatial autocorrelation, resulting in a total of 60 quadrants. Within each quadrant, three dominant habitat types are investigated, resulting in a total of 179 plots (study sites). The climate and landscape variables of these 179 plots are calculated in this dataset. The coordinate system of the shapefiles is ETRS89 / UTM zone 32N (EPSG:25832).
