protons mometum distribution and transport mechanisms in protic ionic liquids

Aim of the proposal is to characterize the protons momentum distribution of the protic ionic liquids [EtNH3]NO3 and [EtNH3]HCOO in the normal liquid and supercooled states. Our goals are: 1) to compare the protons momentum distribution function with the one of other hydrogen bond network systems such as, e.g., the well studied case of water; 2) to verify if coherent proton transport occurs in these systems (in particular in the supercooled state) and shed light on possible correlations with ionic conductivity.
