Host-symbiont population genomics of Bathymodiolus septemdierum from the Lau Basin

The composition of symbionts within and across host individuals can be influenced by a diversity of interacting factors, such as local adaptation, dispersal barriers, host genetics and homologous recombination. In this study we determined the contributions of these processes on the population structure of chemosynthetic symbionts associated with the hydrothermal vent mussel Bathymodiolus septemdierum in the Lau Basin.
