XMCD characterization of epitaxial CrI3 ferromagnet

DOI

Van der Waals magnetic materials are a new forefront research topic in material science. Recently, attention has been focused on those of this family which present ferromagnetic properties at 2D level (single or few layers). With this experiment we want to grow ferromagnetic CrI3 epitaxially on Au(111) single, mica and graphene/SiC(0001) substrates and compare the magnetic behavior at low temperature by X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD).
