Recording equipment
The recordings were done by means of a cassette recorder (Sony TC-D5M) and Sony
lavaliere microphones. They were digitized in the 1990s. All recordings were done in the
speakers’ homes.
The speakers
I no longer recall how the speakers were recruited, but most probably I consulted with
someone I knew from Oppdal, or who knew people in Oppdal interested in the local dialect.
This person then put me into contact with the others. One was a qualified nurse, the other five
were farmers, in three cases combining farming with other occupations; teaching, carpentry
and art.
