Box Core 1 from La Grande Rivière de la Baleine

Seabed processes, characteristics and ages are dertermined by studying Pb-210, Be-7, Th-234 and Cs-137. Be-7 and Th-234 are used to elucidate spatial and temporal patterns in sediment flux and thus freshwater-discharge. Pb-210 and Cs-137 geochronology is used to establish sediment budgets at the study site. Additionally grainsize analyses are conducted and X-radiography is used for documenting sedimentary structures.
